Pradakshina Manthra – To be chanted while doing the pradakshinam :

Yani kani cha papani (Sins ,whatever it may be)

Janmanthara krithani cha (done in this and previous births)

Thani thani vinashyanthi (all of them be destroyed)

Pradakshinam pade pade (by doing Pradakshinam- step by step)

yani kani–whatever; ca–and; papani–sins; Janmantara – this birth and earlier births; kritani – done (by me); ca–also, tani tani–all of them; vinashyanti — are destroyed; pradaksinam– (by) the self circumambulation ; pade pade–at every step.

This Sloka says that Pradakshina will distroy all sins. Pradakshinam is nothing but a way to bow down to the Aathma (purusha) residing inside your physical body. By doing so all your sins are cleansed. It also helps you to be aware of the presence of divine energy with in you.

While doing pooja at home you can do “Aathma Pradikshanam “ , if you don’t have space.This is done by rotating clockwise 3 times while chanting the above mentioned Pradakshina Manthra.

Do’s and Don’ts for Yatris for Shri Amarnath Yatra, 2015

As per the guidelines of the Amarnath Shrine Board, the following is the list of Do’s and Don’t’s for Shri AmarnathYatra, 2015 :

Do’s for the Yatris

1. Yatris must carry sufficient woollen clothing as the temperature can sometimes abruptly fall to below 5 degree Celsius
2. It is important to carry umbrella, wind cheater, raincoat, and waterproof shoes as the weather during the Yatra area is unpredictable
3. Clothes and eatables should be kept in a suitable water proof bag to avoid belongings from getting wet
4. For emergency purposes, do keep in your pocket a note containing the name/address, mobile telephone number of any Yatri proceeding from Darshan on the same date as you are doing
5. It is must to carry your identity card/driving license and Yatra Permit with you.
6. Do travel in a group along with porters/horses/ponies carrying your luggage
7. It is important to ensure that all those comprising the group remain in your sight, lest you are separated from your group
8. On your journey home, you must leave the Base Camps along with all other members of your group
9. Do seek immediate assistance of the Police in case any member of your group is missing. Also have an announcement made about the same on the Public Address System at the Yatra Camp
10. Help your fellow Yatris travelling with you
11. Do strictly follow the instructions issued by the Yatra Administration from time to time
12. Respect the environment and do nothing whatsoever to pollute the Yatra area

Don’ts for the Yatris
1. Ladies must not wear saree while trekking during the Yatra. Salwar kameez, pant-shirt or a track suit will be more comfortable for them
2. Ladies who are more than 6 weeks pregnant shall not be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage
3. Children below 13 years in age and elderly persons above the age of 75 years shall not be permitted to undertake the pilgrimage
4. Don’t stop at places which are marked by warning notices
5. Don’t use slippers because there are steep rises and falls on the route to the Holy Cave. Only wear trekking shoes with laces
6. Don’t attempt any short cuts on the route as doing so would be dangerous
7. Don’t commence journey on an empty stomach to avoid medical problems
8. Don’t do anything during the entire Yatra which could cause pollution or disturb the environment of the Yatra area
9. Don’t use polythene as its use is banned in J&K and is punishable under law

Kumble inducted into ICC Hall of Fame

Former India captain Anil Kumble and Australian legend Betty Wilson have today been inducted into the International Cricket Council Hall of Fame at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Kumble is just the fourth Indian to be included in the elite group, joining Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Bishan Bedi.

"It's an honour to be inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame," Kumble said.

"Indeed, it will be a great moment of pride to receive it during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

"I deem it as a great privilege to join the list of great cricketing luminaries."

The 44-year-old played 132 Tests for India, capturing 619 wickets and became the second man in history to take 10 wickets in an innings when he dismantled Pakistan in 1999 to finish with figures of 10-74.

"Anil was an outstanding international cricketer, a very well-respected opponent, a great statesman for his country and a role model for millions of aspiring cricketers," said ICC Chief Executive David Richardson.

"He played hard but within the spirit of the game. His performance and record speak volumes for his tenacity, commitment, endurance and service to the game."

Alongside Kumble, Wilson becomes the second Australian woman in the Hall of Fame behind champion batter Belinda Clark.

Wilson, considered one of the greatest female cricketers of all-time, played 11 Tests between 1947 and 1958, scoring 862 runs at an average of 57.4 and claimed 68 wickets at 11.8 runs apiece.

In 1957 against England, Wilson became the first cricketer, male or female, to take score a century and take 10 wickets in a Test.

"History shows that Betty was an inspiring cricketer, one of the pioneers of women's cricket and immensely respected because she always put cricket first," Richardson said.

"Had her debut not been delayed by World War II, I am sure she would have scored lot more runs and taken many more wickets."

Kumble and Wilson become the 77th and 78th inductees into the Hall of Fame that features names like Bradman, Richards, Warne, Hobbs and Sobers.

Nitish Kumar to take oath as Bihar CM today

PATNA: Nitish Kumar to take oath as Chief Minister of Bihar this evening.
This will be Nitish Kumar's fourth stint as the chief minister.

Nitish Kumar, leader of the Janata Dal (United), will take oath as Chief Minister of Bihar at 5 pm today. He has been asked by Governor KN Tripathi to prove his majority in the state Assembly by March 16.

His cabinet will reportedly comprise 22 ministers - 20 of them had resigned from his predecessor Jitan Ram Manjhi's cabinet in protest earlier this month while two others were dismissed by Mr Manjhi.

Mr Kumar had, on Friday, publicly described his decision to quit office last year as "a mistake".

"With folded hands, I apologies to the people of Bihar. Never again will I take such a step. I am ready to lead from the front," he said, after his rival Jitan Ram Manjhi quit as Chief Minister, hours before a trust vote in which the BJP had pledged to back him.

A Wife:

My husband is an Engineer by profession, I love him for his steady nature, and I love the warm feeling when I lean against his broad shoulders. Three years of courtship and now, 2 years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it.

The reasons of me loving him before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restles...sness. I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feelings, I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. My husband, is my complete opposite, his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about love. One day, I finally decided to tell him my decision, that I wanted a divorce.

“Why?” he asked, shocked. “I am tired, there are no reasons for everything in the world!” I answered. He kept silent the whole night, seems to be in deep thought with a lighted cigarette at all times.

My feeling of disappointment only increased, here was a man who cannot even express his predicament, what else can I hope from him? and finally he asked me:” What can I do to change your mind?” Somebody said it right, it’s hard to change a person’s personality, and I guess, I have started losing faith in him.

Looking deep into his eyes I slowly answered : “Here is the question, if you can answer and convince my heart, I will change my mind, Let’s say, I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, and we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death, will you do it for me?” He said :” I will give you your answer tomorrow….” My hopes just sank by listening to his response.

I woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting, underneath a milk glass, on the dining table near the front door, that goes….

My dear, “I would not pick that flower for you, but please allow me to explain the reasons further..” This first line was already breaking my heart. I continued reading. “When you use the computer you always mess up the Software programs, 'n you cry in front of the screen, I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you. You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city, I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You always have the cramps whenever your “good friend” approaches every month, I have to save my palms so that I can calm the cramps in your tummy. You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes 'n stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes, I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails,'n help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine 'n the beautiful sand… and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the color of the glow on your young face…

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do… I could not pick that flower yet, 'n die.. ” My tears fell on the letter, 'n blurred the ink of his handwriting… 'n as I continue on reading…

“Now, that you have finished reading my answer, if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread 'n fresh milk…

I rush to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle 'n loaf of bread…. Now I am very sure that no one will ever love me as much as he does, 'n I have decided to leave the flower alone…

That’s life, and love. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace 'n dullness.

Love shows up in all forms, even very small and cheeky forms, it has never been a model, it could be the most dull 'n boring form.. . flowers, 'n romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship.
