US president Barack Obama has invited Narasaraopet MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao to visit his country.
Six time MP from Andhra Pradesh, Sambasiva Rao felicitated the visiting US president at Rashtrapathi Bhavan on Monday. Floored with presentation of specially designed silk shawl and Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) laddu prasadam, Obama extended his invitation to Rao visit white house, said MP's office.
US president told Rao that he would send a separate invitation immediately after returning home and asked Rao visit US. Obama himself reported to have recognized Rao and greeted him taking name. Obama recalled their previous meeting in which Rao presented him with 'Gold Rudraksha haram' during his visit to Indian parliament in 2010. US president keenly enquired about the shawl and prasadam presented by Rao and expressed his gratitude for the precious gift. Sambasiva Rao had also presented a pearls set to US first lady Michelle Obama on Monday. "I am very glad to get the personal invitation from US president Obama. I have visited US many times in the past, but the next visit will be very special in my life," said Sambasiva Rao
