Reasons Behind AAP success in Delhi

Here is the public talk on Facebook  for AAP success

My Reasons for AAP success (from the news papers/media/FB/my own analysis) :
1) Arvind Kejriwal's opportunism and political savvyness (Sensing the right opportunity is good as long as that is with right intentions).
2) Hard work of ground level volunteers of AAP who strictly followed the plan with all the will...
3) Do-or-Die situation for AAP as the leaders, party members and volunteers of the party were facing existential crisis.
4) On the other hand, BJP leaders, party members and workers worked for pomp and show and not really there in Delhi with their heart and soul. I know lot of people went to Delhi to help BJP but they did not really enjoy their stint in Delhi (mind absent and body present). They just wanted to impress NaMo/Amit Shah
5) Traditionally Delhi BJP was a corrupt unit. People in Delhi, for the last 15 years, saw Congress as the most corrupt party and also BJP as a corrupt party. Even though NaMo is the so-called epitome of development, that can only partially remove the inner feeling within the people of Delhi. When people of Delhi saw a cleaner party which can be given at least one chance (based on the experience for the past 15 years regarding BJP and based on the fact that they are seeing the same BJP leaders on the ground)....
6) People of Delhi did not trust BJP as much as people of other states did. People of Delhi have an option in AAP but people of other states did not (so they preferred BJP in states other than in Delhi...wherever elections happened).
7) Taking Kiran Bedi into BJP is actually a good move (unlike lot of other people say because it is easy to say so once the results are out). It is similar to electing NaMo as PM candidate in 2013. NaMo was given time, but Bedi did not have any time. Bedi did not have any option to show case her prowess as she was thick and think and dumped into election all the way. The fact that she was chosen may also be because of the ground reality realized by Amit Shaw. Because Bedi did not have time, she had to bear the brunt of unhappiness among other committed (and of course may be corrupt) BJP leaders. In the end, I feel sorry for her.
8) Narendra Modi's pomp and show (10 lakh suit) costed him/BJP for sure. Just like NaMo pounched on ChaiPeCharcha based on a foolish comment from Aiyer, Kejri pounched on the show-off from NaMo during Obama visit. Lot of people in the lower income group in Delhi who felt that NaMo represented them by going to the top-post from the bottom economic state.....felt alienated and thought that NaMo really is not the same NaMo that they voted for.
9) Too many cooks spoil the meal. You have a galaxy of MPs, Cabinet Ministers, State Party Presidents...even so many people who do not have district level positions in various states...went to Delhi hoping to harp on the victory and scoring a good mark in the eyes of Amit Shaw. With so many egos and without any basic understanding of what Delhi voter is really looking for....aren't they actually spoiling the chances of BJP with their own strategies and actions....whereas, there is no concerted and united direction and even if that is there in some constituencies, it is spoiled by egos.
10) Lot of right-wing BJP MPs (I do not want to brand entire BJP as a right-wing party because I do not feel so) passed on comments like Ghar Wapsi and other senseless comments that fuelled anti-BJP sentiments even harder among non-BJP voters/BJP haters. This act made sure that all the people indeed vote for AAP as they felt voting for Congress is useless and will split their vote and help BJP come to power.
11) AAP's political strategies were shrewd, as per the requirements and not really idealistic in nature. AAP too applied all equations, permutations and combinations (religion/caste/wooing and looking at people as vote banks). Probably this is needed and I do not find fault with AAP here....because, if you really want to do something good, you have to be THERE...without being there, you cannot even start being actually good and you can only talk.....I hope AAP, now that it came to power, will not think about them and think only about governance now (at least as much as possible practically).
12) Last but not the least.....I would not have to write any of the above...provided BJP really worked at ground level after coming to power. After the hypnotic speeches of NaMo and the never-again corrupt practices of Congress which brought BJP to power (just like Delhiites brought AAP to power now with absolute majority and authority), did BJP really change anything at ground level? Except in foreign policy and mind-share caused by Swachh Bharat campaign, I do not see credible results (atleast how they can be possible) anywhere else on the ground....be it Swach Bharath, Skill India, Make in India, Price rice control, Women safety, controlling the extremist remarks.
-------------------

In my opinion Modi as done the publicity for AAP widely freely with huge turnout and also involved every section of people right from kid to Senior citizen by way Swatch Bharat

Gorthi Srinivaas

Is BJP to fear AAP on an All India Basis? May not be really, atleast Now.
AAP went to 54.3% vote share from 29.5% in 2013. BJP Ďown to just 32.7 % from 34%
Then who has to fear for AAP in neighbouring states of Delhi?
It is Congress , BSP and ofcourse fringe parties like JDU, left etc which will become irrelevant. AAP actually took the space of Congress in Delhi. BSP which had sizeable 9% vote share in Delhi is dumped into 2 plus % .
If AAP expands into neighbouring and hypothetically gets successful, it is Congress, BSP etc whose base will get eroded.
So Mayawathi who has considerable share of 5 plus in Punjab and 9 % in Delhi and ofcourse congress will get the drubbing. JDU etc will get confined to Bihar.
